The British Museum will partner with over 20 museums across the UK over the next three years. Trainees will be based at their host museums, and will benefit from the network of other trainees, partner staff, and mentors.

Training on digital skills related to museum collections

The Museum Futures programme has the management and access of collections and museum data at its core, recognising that an emphasis on data in its many forms is something becoming increasingly important to every area of museum activity. All traineeships will strongly reflect the importance of data and its long term preservation and access. There are four key digital concepts we will be exploring through regular network training sessions: digitisation; data management; digital access and engagement; and digital preservation.
